Some context…

Up to 65% of patients experience weight loss at their first oncology visit1 which is associated with lower tolerance to treatment and poorer prognosis2,3.

Current ESPEN and ESMO guidelines recommend screening for nutritional risk from diagnosis of cancer AND early nutritional intervention to support patient outcomes4,5. However, many aspects of the guidelines are not yet sufficiently implemented in clinical practice.

 

This year’s symposium is focused on the optimization of nutritional care in oncology and aim to bridge the gap between research and clinical implementation, advocating for sustainable and equitable access to nutritional care:
